ELEPHONE P6000 Pro review | THICK Dauerläufer

The biggest concern of the typical smartphone user is the battery. Not later than the second day, the device needs to be recharged - but usually is much earlier deadline. The new smartphones Elephone want to put an end: our current tester has a 5,300 mAh battery on board. How proposes this and of course the rest of the smartphone in the test, learn it after the break.

The scope of supply
The P6000 Pro comes with a USB power adapter and the appropriate cables to the customer. This is still a package with a smartphone in the package, it can be assumed that the smartphone is packed depending on the country of destination. In this case, with EU adapter. In the OVP are still a small guide booklet as well as a screen protector. In the photo you can not see the form, which was hidden well in the original package of small USB OTG adapter in Android - and was initially overlooked just one of us.

The first impression
The P6000 Pro is one thing above all: hard. The big battery takes its toll, which is why you sometimes get the feeling to carry a compact brick in his hand. 207 grams are unfamiliar with 5 inches - especially if you only had the Kazam Tornado in hand. Simultaneously, the device feels good in hand, what most of the back of the unit is responsible: the soft plastic indulges the hand. However, we recommend directly buy a case with, in order to protect the device against scratches.

The technique
The front of the P6000 Pro is occupied by a 5-inch IPS display. This has a resolution of Full HD. Below sits the Home button, which also serves as a fingerprint sensor. The softkeys are fortunately lights and even stingy with no brightness. Above the display sits the ear as well as the 5 megapixel front camera - which is interpolated to 8 Megapixels, and a few sensors. On the left side of the manufacturer placed the power button and the volume rocker. On the bottom of the speakers and the microphone is placed. Headphones and the USB cable for charging are inserted on the top. The left side is completely empty. On the back we find the Elephone logo and the 13 megapixel back camera, which is interpolated to 16 megapixels before. This is supported by a simple flash.

The unit houses the much courted 5,350 mAh battery inside. In sit two normal SIM-card slots and a SD card slot. Inside a MediaTek MT6753 OctaCore ticking. This is clocked at 1.7 GHz. A Mali-450 MP4 GPU for graphics ensures. On offer here include 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory on board. The user is of course WiFi b / g / n and Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and GPS are available.

The display
With the display a smartphone can stand or fall. When P6000 Pro is fortunately the former is the case: the P6000 Pro can not only indoor, but also operate under springlike sky. The display can convince: we look from left to right without any problem on the display. Thanks to Full-HD plenty of content can be displayed on the display. Once again, if the font size is set to "Small".

The Sound
There are two locally separated speakers to the bottom of the smartphone. The worry for smartphone typical sound that is not distorted but noisy. In the test we followed one way or another podcast episode of WatchMojo and thanks to Netflix enjoyed a few series - both with no problems.

Battery life
If the battery life with a 5,350 mAh battery ever a question? No. The Elephone P6000 Pro runs and runs and runs. For days on end. The heavy battery in the device is enough slack off in normal use for 3 days. For mere mortals, not gadget lovers probably even longer. Overnight, allowing the battery also easily recharge. We used the anchor power supply with 50 Watt for this.

In addition to the own endurance the thick battery of P6000 Pro is also good for another: the device can also serve as a power bank. Using a USB OTG cable, we invite for example the ZTE Star 1 once complete. The Yoga 2 Lenovo could not recharge via USB OTG, no matter what we tried Adapter.

The camera
... Makes the sunny everyday a good figure: images are triggered and stored quickly. With increasing darkness the images are expected to be worse. However, it is in low-light situations with partly much too bright (!) Flash not possible to take pictures. We were with the P6000 Pro Photo Tour and the results soon publish at this point.

The Performance
The P6000 Pro is quickly on the way: under normal circumstances, we did not notice any delays. The unit responds quickly to our inputs and loads apps and games quickly. Even demanding games such as Modern Combat 5 run on the P6000 Pro. In the first Antutu benchmark run smartphone landed just above the 30k, but missed this goal after two weeks usage. The crisp 29k points, however, do not worry for worry lines on our foreheads: the P6000 Pro is still fast.

Connectivity
Even if the sound of the Pro P6000 is okay, via Bluetooth can be here much rausholen: Nerdbench connects via wireless connection to the Youga Berlin. Our Pebble keeps us on the road to date and the balance with the WiFi scale is not a problem in terms of games gadgets however, there were problems with the Sphero or the new Ollie:. That read not be linked with the smartphone - Sphero however already ,

The Nerdbench editorial lives gadgets, which is why we wanted to join us via WiFi with the GoPro to take a picture quickly. This is also possible in principle - though the data transmission is not supported. With the Xiaomi Yi Cam it behaves differently: The connection is very fast brought about. The daily goes surfing the P6000 Pro slight of hand: the connection to the router is stable - whether on campus or at home.

For videos on the go, we are always on the go with the QX100, which can deliver over NFC initiated the pairing with the P6000 Pro. Other useful gadgets, like our NFC rings use the transmission over a short distance.

As a special bonus, the Pro P6000 comes with a fingerprint sensor in the Home Button. This is set up more or less quickly and then also works satisfactorily. Anyone wishing to use the feature in everyday life, should consider whether the time in which one is busy with stripes on the Home Button, is used really efficiently than with a normal password entry.

The operating system
The system runs smoothly. Even if the surface is adjusted by Elephone, the users find their way around right away. The Elephone launcher is very colorful, something playful icons. Nerdbench sets devices, even if they are delivered fresh, directly back. We want to make sure that we really work with a fresh operating system. When you first start a pandawill app was installed, which, however, did not survive the factory reset. On inquiry confirmed pandawill that smartphones are not normally delivered with the pandawill app and it is the P6000 Pro is an exception, which is due to the partnership with the manufacturer. The device comes directly with root access and Superuser is already on board. Although the data have to be brought up to date that works but very slightly above the "normal" mode. Following Root Checker announces the successful root process.

The Conclusion
The P6000 Pro combines power with endurance. With just under 30k points in Antutu points, the unit settled a good average. Swabs there under difficult lighting conditions with the back camera. For this, the display works very well and content looks on the 5 inch very good. USB OTG is not a problem for the unit: self keyboards can be connected to the smartphone.

As well as sound and performance we can really be only one thumbs up queuing in the positive image. In addition to the camera dims the use of two mini SIM cards slots the overall impression: for whatever reason it was thought at Elephone, that would be a wise decision - it was not. With adapters the unit is hard to operate without damage to risk. The blog colleague S7yler did that though - the two editors of Nerdbench have but aborted the attempt after a few minutes.

Customers who are annoyed mainly due to the short battery life of their smartphones can go wrong with the Elephone P6000 Pro nothing. The unit comes with all the extras, such as NFC, therefore, to make life simpler the editors. There is also a clean running OS. We give a thumbs up. Our Pro P6000 came from pandawill and is available there for 183 Euro plus import duties.
